From now on, all global Trafi rollouts will benefit users with the first-ever universal scanner that unlocks any type of micro-mobility vehicle directly from the home screen. We have also introduced a two-tap trip experience and improved vehicle discoverability straight on the map.
We live in an era of high user expectations, and the main price is an exceptional experience. To date, we are excited to be the largest MaaS technology player, and on average, apps powered by our technology are rated 4.5 stars, which puts them on the same leg with the likes of Uber and others. Nevertheless, we are not stopping. It’s our mission to keep pushing innovation forward, and therefore we took upon a challenge to improve the micro-mobility flow within our rollouts. This means exceeding or at least matching the full experience that of the native scooter, kick-scooter, or bicycle apps.
A universal scanner unlocks any integrated vehicle that supports QR codes. The scanner is placed on the home screen, allowing the rider to point and unlock the chosen vehicle.
To illustrate, imagine you are walking down the street and see the kick-scooter. Now you just need to open the Jelbi or yumuv app, tap on the scanner button, the second tap to unlock, and scoot. Factors such as provider, or having the native app become obsolete. The technology behind the scanner identifies and recognizes each provider’s QR code and enables the unlock function.
Moreover, after scanning the vehicle it takes only two more taps – start and end. This fairly simple update benefits riders tremendously. It not only matches the booking and ride experience dictated by the native apps but moreover, opens up immediate selection and access to multiple provider services.
The possibilities of the universal scanner do not stop here. Each MSP which would like to expand and employ their fleet quickly can do so with a QR code system. Trafi’s universal scanner will recognize and unlock it – no need for complicated unlocking mechanisms or cards.
One of the aspects of MaaS is to help people to plan their trips better. It means to compare the options around them and choose the best for that moment. We facilitate riders in two ways when it comes to choosing the micro-mobility vehicle.
First, on the home screen map, we show all available nearby micromobility options. The new icons indicating battery levels for each vehicle allows selecting his preferred option almost in no time.
Secondly, when the user clicks on a disk in the nearby screen, he will be suggested with the pre-selected nearest vehicle with enough battery for the average trip (3km for scooter, up to 6km for bikes.) And a walking path and distance to that vehicle. Users can simply switch to his own selection by taping on another vehicle on the map.
The improved micro-mobility discoverability, booking, and parking flow save time, increase satisfaction, and in-return retention rates. We keep on improving and developing to meet the ever-growing user expectations to make MaaS the first choice to move around the city.
